Lu Weibing (Redmi President) has confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be announced next week. It is tipped to be priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 15,800). The new handset is expected to be launched alongside the Redmi Note 7 on February 28.
The Redmi Note 7 was launched in India at CNY 999 (approx Rs 10,500) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. While the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model costs CNY 1,199 (approx Rs 12,600), the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant comes with price tag of CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 14,700).

According to recent leaks and reports, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor (with an octa-core Kryo 460 CPU, enhanced AI Engine, Spectra 250 ISP, and Adreno 612 GPU). The new chipset is based on 11nm LPP process technology and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology. It also adds the capability to record Ultra-HD (4K at 30fps) videos with Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering and HD (720p) video recording at 480fps.
Additionally, it is tipped to sport a 48-megapixel Sony IMX86 sensor at the back. The Redmi Note 7 sports a 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor. It is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor. The company is tipped to replace the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant (on Redmi Note 7) with a 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model. This means the upcoming handset will be available in three variants – 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage.
The upcoming handset is expected to come in three different color options – Black, Gradient Blue, and Gradient Red. The design of the new model is similar to the original Redmi Note 7.

The Redmi Note 7 is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor along with 3GB/ 4GB/ 6GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. The 4,000mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 4 support. It runs Android Oreo operating system with MIUI 9 on top.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a dual camera setup on the back. It combines a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor (with f/1.8 aperture) with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The dual-SIM smartphone sports a 6.3-inch LTPS display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, waterdrop-shaped notch, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It supports 450 nits brightness, 84 percent NTSC color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The handset also features 2.5D glass protection up front and at the back.

Conclusion
Recently, Xiaomi decided to part ways with the ‘Redmi’ brand. It will serve as a separate sub-brand (similar to POCO). The new sub-brand will focus on bringing e-commerce friendly devices. Whereas the ‘Mi models’ will focus more on mid to high-end devices.
