The Redmi K40 is priced in China at CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 22,500) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. The top-end model (12GB RAM, 256GB storage) costs CNY 2,699 (approx Rs 30,400).
While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant costs CNY 2,199 (approx Rs 24,700), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 28,000), and
On the other hand, the Redmi K40 Pro is priced at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 31,500) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant costs CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 33,800), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 37,000).
Xiaomi has also launched a Redmi K40 Pro+ model with a price tag of CNY 3,699 (approx Rs 41,600). It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
All three handsets are now available pre-bookings in China. Sales will start from March 4. There is no confirmation about the Indian price and launch date as yet.
Additionallt, the company has launched its new RedmiBook Pro 14 and RedmiBook Pro 15 models alongside the Redmi AirDots 3 earbuds.

Specifications and Features
The new Redmi K40 series comes with features like triple rear cameras, a gradient back design, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
The highlights also include a 120Hz AMOLED display. Xiaomi claims that the Redmi K40 features the smallest hole-punch cutout in the world i.e. 2.76mm.
While the Redmi K40 comes with a Snapdragon 870 processor, the Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+ are powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 SoC. Let’s take a closer look:

The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor along with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K40 sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens.
For selfies and video calling, the handset comes equipped with a 20MP front camera. It is backed by a 4,520mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

The Redmi K40 runs Android 11 OS with MIUI 12 on top. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port.
The new handset comes Dreamland, Icy White, and Glossy Black color options. It weighs around 196 grams and has a thickness of 7.8mm.
The 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display comes with Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits of peak brightness, and 360Hz touch sampling rate.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Redmi K40 comes with a double-sided Corning Gorilla Glass protection on both the front and the back.
Sensors on the device include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.

Redmi K40 Pro
The Pro variant is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor along with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K40 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens (119-degree FoV), and a 5MP tertiary sensor.
The new handset sports a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz touch sampling rate.
The Redmi K40 Pro’s display panel is also A+ certified by screen benchmarking firm DisplayMate. Other features remain the same as the Redmi K40 model.
Redmi K40 Pro+
The premium smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor along with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Additionally, the Redmi K40 Pro+ sports a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor. Other specifications are identical to the Redmi K40 Pro variant.
