The Redmi 9 is priced in India at Rs 8,999 for the 64GB storage variant. The 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999.
The new smartphone comes in three color options – Carbon Black, Sky Blue, and Sporty Orange. Sales will start on August 31 via Amazon and Mi.com.
The budget smartphone is a slightly tweaked variant of the Redmi 9C (launched in Malaysia earlier this year). The Redmi 8 that was launched last year.

The Redmi 9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor and 4GB RAM. The 64GB/ 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 512GB).
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a dual-camera set up on the back. It combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
For selfies and video calling, the Redmi 9 features a 5-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging.

The Redmi 9 runs the Android 10 operating system with MIUI 12 on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.53-inch Dot View display with HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
In terms of dimensions, the Redmi 9 measures 164.9 x 77.07 x 9.0mm. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear panel.
