The new handset looks like a rebranded version of the Redmi 8A Dual (launched in February this year). It comes in two RAM variants and three color options.

The Redmi 8A Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 439 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB/ 3GB LPDDR3 RAM.
The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card. The 5,000mAh battery comes with 18W fast charging support.
Camera
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a dual-camera setup on the back. It combines a 13MP primary sensor (f/2.2 aperture) with a 2MP secondary sensor (f/2.4).
For selfies and video calling, the Redmi 8A Pro sports an 8MP front camera (f/2.0). It is housed in a waterdrop shaped notch.

The dual-sim smartphone sports a 6.22-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1,520 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 270ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The Redmi 8A Pro comes in Midnight Grey, Sea Blue, and Sky White color options. It measures 156.48 x 75.41 x 9.4mm and weighs 188 grams.
Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, compass, and an accelerometer.

The Redmi 8A Pro is priced at IDR 1,549,000 (approx Rs 7,100) for the 2GB RAM variant. The 3GB RAM option comes with a price tag of IDR 1,649,000 (approx Rs 7,600).
Sales will start in Indonesia later this month. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.
