Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched it’s Redmi 6 in China on 12th June 2018. Moreover, the handset succeeds the Redmi 5. It will be equipped with Face Unlock, a horizontal dual-camera setup, and a rear-fingerprint sensor. Moreover, the handset is also speculated to have AI-based features like powering its camera, Xiao AI assistant.
Redmi 6 Price
In China, the handset will be sold for CNY 799 for the 3GB RAM+32GB inbuilt storage. The 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant will be sold for CNY 999. Moreover, Redmi 6 will be available in Chine from 10 AM on 15th June 2018.
Redmi 6 Specs
The smartphone runs MIUI on top of Android out-of-the-box. It is built with a 5.45-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It also a screen-to-body ratio of 80.7%. Redmi 6 is powered by an octa-core 12nm MediaTek Helio P22 SoC (clocked at 2GHz), paired with 3GB/ 4GB of RAM.
In the camera department, the Redmi 6 sports a dual-rear camera setup which is horizontally aligned. Moreover, it has a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. Both have 1.25-micron pixels and AI capabilities. Up front, the handset sports a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Moreover, the handset has 32GB/64GB internal storage. It is expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB. Its sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity sensor.
Moreover, the handset is further powered by a 3000mAh battery.
The handset also doesn’t have an IR blaster which works with Xiaomi’s Mi Remote app feature helps the users control electronics such as TV, AC, projector, fan and other gadgets.
Other Developments
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 has received a brand new 75-inch variant alongside the other new arrivals at the company’s 8th-anniversary event, held in China. The Asian tech giant had released its Mi TV 4 series in 2017– at CES. The series consisted of 49, 55 and 65-inches models. Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 75-inch variant is powered by an AI-assistant.
The 55-inch Mi TV 4 variant entered into the Indian market in February 2018.
