The Realme U1 was launched in India at Rs 11,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB internal storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 14,499. Now, the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant of the Realme U1 is available at Rs 9,999 via Amazon India and Realme e-store. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB Storage model is now priced at Rs 11,999.

The new 3GB RAM/ 64GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 10,999. It will be available in the country on April 10 via Amazon.in and the official Realme website.

The Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels), a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, pixel density of 409ppi, and a peak brightness of 450 nits. It comes with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The new smartphone is powered by a 2.1GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 along with ARM G72 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB RAM. The 32GB/ 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It is backed by a 3,500mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the Realme U1 sports a dual rear camera setup on the back. It uses a 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.2 aperture), 2-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture) and an LED flash. Camera features include Portrait Lighting, Slo-Mo video (up to 90fps), AI Scene Detection, and Bokeh effect.

For selfies and video calling, the 25-megapixel front camera comes with a Sony IMX576 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 1.8-micron pixels, and 4-in-1 pixels tech. It comes with multiple features to enhance selfies. A Backlight mode keeps both the background and foreground in focus. While an AI Beauty+ mode is optimized for Indian complexions (featuring 296 identification point) , the Smarter Groupie feature offers customized beautification for multiple subjects in a single photo.

The Realme U1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with ColorOS 5.2 on top. It features a rear fingerprint sensor and an AI Face Unlock feature. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS, micro-USB port, OTG support, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The dual-SIM smartphone measures 157 x 74 x 8mm and weighs 168 grams. It comes in three color options – Ambitious Black, Brave Blue, and Fiery Gold. Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Conclusion

The Realme U1 is the first smartphone in the photography-focused U-Series by the company. Earlier this year, Oppo sub-brand launched the Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1 in India. Realme is headed globally by Sky Li, former Global VP of Oppo.
