Messaging platform WhatsApp has launched a lot of new features recently. This has been done to improve user experience. Now the company has released a new feature for both Android and iOS smartphone users, called Predicted Upload. It makes it easier and faster for people to send and upload images to their contacts.
Predicted Upload
The Predicted Upload feature was first revealed by WABetaInfo.
Predicted Upload will start uploading an image to the server in advance. it predicts photos that an individual will probably send. When a user will select photos to send, he or she will be given an option to edit the pictures in WhatsApp, where they will have the ability to add effects to the images before sending them.
The new feature works on WhatsApp version 2.18.61 on iOS and version 2.18.156 on Android.
Other Developments
The company has also begun to roll out group audio calls feature for iPhone users. WhatsApp group audio call feature will facilitate users to make calls to multiple contacts through the app. Moreover, for Android users, the app has introduced a ‘Select All’ feature which lets a user mark all the new messages as archived or read in a single tap.
The WhatsApp group audio call feature is being rolled out for iPhone users through an alleged server-side update. Android users can avail this feature through WhatsApp beta version 2.18.60 or higher.
This was also reported by WABetaInfo. The design of group audio calls looks similar to individual audio calls. There are buttons to enable speaker, video call, and mute just below the profile pictures of the participants. Moreover, the participant limits haven’t been revealed yet. It is allegedly available to select users only.
Moreover, a WABetaInfo tweet mentions that the WhatsApp group audio call feature is being rolled out to only iPhone 2.18.60 users. This also received the ‘Request Account Info’ feature earlier.
This was first revealed by Mark Zuckerberg during Facebook’s F8 developer conference. He said, “Voice and video calling are very popular on WhatsApp, and we’re excited to share that group calling will be coming in the months ahead.”
