Paytm is one of the biggest services for mobile payments in India. It has successfully facilitated QR-based UPI transactions across the country.
Now, One97 Communications Limited (Paytm owner) announced the new Paytm Card Soundbox. It will accept card payments and offer instant audio payment alerts.
For transactions, the Paytm Card Soundbox will support Visa, Mastercard, American Express and RuPay cards. It will allow payments with the ‘tap and pay’ feature (up to Rs 5,000).

The new Soundbox will allow merchants to accept mobile payments as well. A visual payment confirmation will be offered through an LCD display.
The Paytm Card Soundbox comes with 4G network connectivity. It comes with a 4W speaker and up to five days of battery life. Merchants can choose from up to 11 languages for alerts.

The new Soundbox is aimed at making payments more convenient for merchants. It will join the Paytm Pocket Soundbox and Paytm Music Soundbox.
The Paytm Pocket Soundbox is a portable device that is designed for merchants on the move. It is aimed at delivery agents, auto drivers, electricians, etc.
On the other hand, the Paytm Music Soundbox can be connected to merchant phones via Bluetooth. It will allow them to listen to music, match commentary, etc.
In summation, Paytm has combined Soundbox with NFC or contactless debit and credit card payments with mobile payments. This is the first such device in the Indian market.
