The Indian budget tablet segment sees a launch almost everyday with some or the other company launching a tablet that’s better than the one that was launched yesterday and that too at a lower price. The latest budget tablet to be launched in the country is the Pantel T-Pad WS708C which has a screen of 7 inches and will sell for Rs.6,999 and comes courtesy of Pantel Technologies which has also entered into a partnership with BSNL, the telecom giant of the country.
The budget tablet’s USP will be the fact that it would run Jelly Bean and will offer calling functionality as well. It has a single core 1 GHz processor of Cortex A9 architecture and has a Mali 400 3D Accelerator GPU as well. What could restrict the performance of this very capable device is the fact that it has a 512 MB RAM. There is an internal storage of 4GB available and there’s a microSD card slot as well on offer to expand the memory upto 32 GB.
The capacitive display of the 7 inch tablet has a display resolution of 800×400 pixels and will come with dual sim functionality as well. So it’s kind of a big phablet with two sim cards. It will have the 3G support via a dongle and the device will also feature Wi-Fi for connectivity. To complement 3G and Wi-Fi, there’s Bluetooth on offer as well. The rear will get a 2.1 MP camera and you get a VGA camera on the front for video chatting.
A 3,000 mAH battery will be powering the tablet and the tablet will come with bundled offers from BSNL, but the offers would be different for different circles. Pantel has been trying to get the tablets to retail outlets and other e-commerce sites but for the time being, if you are too eager to buy the Pantel tablets, you can order them on www.grabthefuture.in. The tablet seems a good choice as it runs the Android’s latest version and has two sim cards as well but there’s nothing new that we can’t find on other budget tablets.
