The Panasonic Toughbook S1 comes with a starting price of Rs 98,000. It will be available in India through Panasonic distributors and system integrators.
Initially, the rugged tablet was launched in the US is $2,499 (approx Rs 1.82 lakh). It is aimed at working professionals in logistics, transportation, retail, field service, and other segments.

The Panasonic Toughbook S1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The 65GB storage can be further expanded through an SD card (up to 2GB), SDHC (up to 32GB), and SDXC (up to 64GB).
The new tablet is backed by a 3,200mAh battery that can last up to eight hours with just three hours of charging time. Also, a Warm Swap functionality can extend the battery to 5,580mAh (offers 14 hours of usage time with 4.5 hours of charge time).
In terms of optics, the Panasonic Toughbook S1 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera. For selfies and video calling, it comes with a 5-megapixel front camera.

The Panasonic Toughbook S1 runs Android 10 OS. Connectivity options include Qualcomm WCN3990 Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, a docking connector, and an optional USB Type-A host port.
The rugged tablet comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification for toughness and drop resistance (up to five feet). You can choose between IP65 and IP67 dust and water resistance certification.

In terms of dimensions, the Panasonic Toughbook S1 measures 193 x 131 x 19.07mm and weighs 426 grams. It comes in a single color option and thick bezels all around.
The 7.0-inch display comes with WXGA (800 x 1,280 pixels) resolution, 10-point capacitive multi-touch, glove touch modes, anti-reflective (AR) screen treatment, and 500 nits of peak brightness.
Sensors on the Panasonic Toughbook S1 include an ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and accelerometer.
