Meizu Sends Out Invites For August 26 Launch Event In India

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has sent out invites for a brand launch event in India. The event is scheduled on July 26 in New Delhi. Meizu has been relying on social media for the announcement of its devices in India and has not officially announced its arrival in the country. But this time at the August 26 launch event, it is likely to announce its foray into the Indian market. “We are introducing Meizu to India on Wednesday, August 26th and we would be delighted to have you join us and witness this momentous occasion together,” says Meizu.

While the company has already launched its M1 Note and M2 Note smartphones in the Indian market, it is likely that it will launch Meizu MX5 smartphone at the upcoming launch event.

iBerry Auxus, in collaboration with Elephone, has launched its Auxus Prime P8000 smartphone in the Indian market. The Prime P8000 is essentially the Indian customized version of the Elephone P8000.

Under the hood, the Prime P8000 is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, it features a 5.5-inch full HD OGS display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution.There is 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded using microSD card.

Lenovo & Motorola Start Smartphone Manufacturing In India

Lenovo, at a press briefing in India today has announced that it will start smartphone manufacturing in India as its commitment to Make In India campaign. Lenovo owned Motorola has already started manufacturing in India. The Motorola Moto E and Lenovo K3 Note will now be manufactured at the Sriperumbudur, Chennai plant in India. While Moto E has already started being manufactured at the plant, the K3 Note will follow soon.

Furthermore, for the current financial year, Motorola and Lenovo will generate a capacity of 6 million units. Lenovo and Motorola both will have separate manufacturing lines at the same facility in Chennai.

Micromax has expanded its Canvas Selfie smartphone series with the launch of Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 and Canvas Selfie 3 smartphones in India. Both devices are selfie focused phones. The Canvas Selfie 2 comes with 5 mega pixel front shooter with OmniVision OV5670 sensor and 4P lens while the Canvas selfie 3 sports an 8 mega pixel front facing camera with LED flash and Sony MX179 sensor.

As for specifications, both phones are powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and house 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.

Samsung has launched its latest flip phone, called the Samsung G9198 in China. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The handset runs Android operating system. This smartphone sports two 3.9-inch WXGA Super AMOLED touchscreen displays- one on the inside and another on outside, with 1280×768 pixels resolution.

There is 16GB of inbuilt storage onboard which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. On camera front, it sports a 16 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. Backed up by a 2020mAh battery, it measures 120.3×61.2×16.3 mm in dimensions and weighs 204 grams. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB.
