At an event in China, Oppo has launched the successors of Oppo R9 and R9 Plus, called the Oppo R9s and R9s Plus. Both smartphones sport 16 mega pixel camera on the rear as well as on the front. Rest of the specifications of both the phones are different.
The Oppo R9s packs a 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The screen is protected against scratches by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone houses 4GB of RAM and is backed up by a 3010mAh battery.
The Oppo R9s Plus, on the other hand, is the larger and more powerful sibling of the R9s. The smartphone sports a 6-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. The phone houses 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory and supports expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card.
Both smartphones feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the Home Button for additional security. The devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under ColorOS 3.0. While the primary camera of Oppo R9s supports EIS, the Plus variant supports OIS. Both phones also support VOOC fast charge that is claimed to deliver 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes for charging.

Price & Availability
The Oppo R9s and R9s Plus carry price tags of CNY 2799 (approximately Rs. 27,700) and CNY 3499 (approximately Rs. 34,700) respectively. Both smartphones are up for pre-order in China and will go on sale starting October 28 in Gold and Rose Gold color options. There is no word on global roll out of the phones as of now.
