Price and Availability
The new foldable phone prototype was showcased by Oppo Vice President Brian Shen. However, the pricing and availability details are still under wraps. While the Huawei Mate X costs EUR 2,299 (approx Rs 2,09,400), the Samsung Galaxy Fold is priced at $1,980 (approx Rs 1,41,000).

Specifications and Features
According to recent teasers and leaks, the Oppo Foldable Phone looks similar to the recently unveiled Huawei Mate X. The large display panel folds in to offer a dual-screen device. A thick bar on one side houses a camera module (likely to serves as the front and rear camera) with a dual-LED flash.
The upcoming smartphone appears to run a new Android-based ColorOS version. Moreover, Shen has asked Weibo users whether they want Oppo to kick off the mass production of the new foldable phone. This points to the prototyping stage of the new model.

Huawei Mate X
The dual-SIM smartphone features two FullView display panels (6.6-inch and 6.38-inch) that combine to offer an 8-inch OLED FullView display with an 8:7.1 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. The Huawei Mate X comes with a thickness of 5.4mm (when unfolded). When folded, it has an 11mm thickness. The patented hinge design comes with over 100 components.
The 6.6-inch display (when folded) comes with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1148 x 2480 pixels. Whereas the 6.38-inch back display comes with 25:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 892 x 2480 pixels. It can also be used to capture selfies. There is no display notch.
The new handset is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor and 8GB RAM. The 512GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). The two battery packs on the device have a combined capacity of 4,500mAh. The 55W Huawei SuperCharge technology claims to deliver 85 percent of power in 30 minutes of charge.
The Huawei Balong 5000 5G chipset (touted as the world’s first 7nm modem) offers up to 4.6/ 2.5Gbps downlink/ uplink speeds on Sub-6GHz. It can deliver up to 6.5/ 3.5Gbps downlink/ uplink speeds on mmWave. The handset also features a quad 5G antenna.
In terms of optics, the Huawei Mate X sports a Leics-powered two-in-one camera setup (for front and back). It combines a 40-megapixel primary sensor (wide-angle lens) with a 16-megapixel sensor (ultra-wide-angle lens), and an 8-megapixel sensor (telephoto). A new mirror shooting mode uses the rear display to show preview to subjects.
