The Oppo A53 2020 was launched in August this year. Now, the popular smartphone brand has launched its 5G version in China.
The new smartphone comes with a different processor from the original Oppo A53. It also features a high refresh rate display with a hole-punch cut out.
The Oppo A53 5G sports a triple rear camera setup. It comes in three color options and two RAM/ storage variants. Let’s take a closer look:

The Oppo A53 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 (MT6853V) processor along with 4GB/ 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage (non-expandable).
In terms of optics, the handset sports a triple camera setup on the back. It uses a 16-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.2 aperture), a 2MP macro lens (f/2.4), and a 2MP portrait sensor (f/2.4).
For selfies and video calling, the Oppo A53 5G features an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture (housed in a hole-punch cutout). It is backed by a 4,040mAh battery that supports 10W charging.

The Oppo A53 5G runs the Android 10 operating system with ColorOS 7.2 on top. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The 6.5-inch display comes with Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) resolution, a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling rate, 480 nits of peak brightness, and a pixel density of 405ppi.
In terms of dimensions, the new smartphone measures 162.2 x 75 x 7.9mm and weighs 175 grams. It comes in Lake Green, Secret Night Black, and Streamer Purple color options.
Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Price and Availability

The Oppo A53 5G comes with a starting price of at CNY 1,299 (approx Rs 14,600) for the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.
Sales will start in China on December 22. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price tag and launch date.
