The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched the successor of its OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro models.
Both new handsets come with features like Snapdragon 865 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, 16MP selfie camera, and 5G support.
However, while the OnePlus 8 sports a triple camera setup on the back, the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with quad rear cameras. Let’s take a closer look at both devices and see how they compare:

Both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor along with 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage.
Both smartphones run the Android 10 operating system with OxygenOS on top. Both support Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A) for fast charging.
However, while the OnePlus 8 is backed by a 4,300mAh battery, the Pro model sports a slightly larger 4,510mAh battery.
Additionally, the OnePlus 8 Pro supports Warp Charge 30 Wireless and reverse wireless charging. It is the first OnePlus smartphone to support wireless charging.

Cameras
The OnePlus 8 sports a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor (f/1.75 aperture), 2MP macro lens (f/2.4), and a 16MP tertiary sensor (f/2.2).
On the other hand, the Pro model features a quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor (f/1.78 aperture, OIS, EIS), an 8MP telephoto lens (f/2.44, OIS), a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2).
Additionally, it features a 5MP ‘Color Filter’ camera sensor (f/2.4) that adds artistic lighting effects and filters).
Both handset support 4K video recording at 30/ 60fps. For selfies and video calling, the new models sport a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.45 aperture.

Design and Display
Both new handsets feature an IP68 rating (dust and water resistance). While the display is protected by a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass layer, a punch-hole for the front is placed near the top-left corner.
While the OnePlus 8 measures 160.2 x 72.9 x 8.0mm and weighs 180 grams, the Pro model measures 165.3 x 74.35 x 8.5mm and weighs 199 grams.
The OnePlus 8 sports a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with Full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution, up to 90Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 19.8:9 aspect ratio, a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. it comes with a 10-bit color panel and HDR10+ rating.

The OnePlus 8 comes with a starting price of Rs 41,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.
The 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant and 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage model costs Rs 44,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively.
Whereas the OnePlus 8 Pro costs Rs 54,999 for the base model (8GB RAM/ 128GB storage). The 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage model costs Rs 59,999.
