The OnePlus Nord will be launched on July 21. It is said to cost less than $500 (approx Rs 37,800). In India, it is tipped to be priced at Rs 24,990 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the OnePlus Nord will be unveiled through the OnePlus Nord AR app (available via Google Play Store and App Store).
The upcoming handset is now available for pre-order via Amazon.in fro limited stock. Interested customers will have to pay Rs 499. They will receive a gift box containing limited-edition merchandise.
The pre-order customers will get another gift box containing OnePlus Bullets Wireless V1 headphones and a phone cover for free, if they complete their purchase of OnePlus Nord by August 31.
“As we have always done when we try something new, we are going to start relatively small with this new product line by first introducing it in Europe and India,” said Pete Lau, Co-founder & CEO, OnePlus.
“But don’t worry, we’re also looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well,” he added.
The upcoming handset will the first OnePlus handset with an affordable price tag. The company hopes to attract customers who avoid OnePlus due to premium pricing.

As per recent leaks and rumors, the upcoming handset will feature a hole-punch display design. It is tipped to house dual front cameras with a 32MP primary sensor (f/2.45 aperture) and an 8MP wide-angle lens (f/2.45, 105-degree field of view).
The OnePlus Z/ OnePlus 8 Nord is tipped to sport a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, minimal bezels, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The rear panel will feature a quad-camera setup with flash. It is expected to combine a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor (f/1.75) with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens (f/2.4).

The upcoming smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G processor and up to 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage.
The OnePlus Z/ OnePlus 8 Nord is said to be backed by a 4,115mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It is likely to run Android 10-based Oxygen OS 10.
Additionally, the upcoming handset is expected to come with an alert slider, 5G support, USB Type-C port, and the speaker grille.

Recently, the Chinese brand launched the OnePlus 8 series. It was rumored to be working on a toned-down variant called the OnePlus 8 Lite. However, the OnePlus Z is reported to be a successor of the OnePlus X handset (launched in 2015).
