Their fans seem to be in a state of frenzy after the company announced its partnership with Avengers: Infinity War. The movie releases today– 27th April 2018– and the company will be launching an Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 too. The smartphone will be launched in India on May 17, 2018. It’s not just the company’s social media who are creating the hype, it’s also the company’s top-level officials. Yesterday, OnePlus Founder and CEO teased fans with information regarding the OnePlus 6 price.

The Chinese entrepreneur had revealed something similar prior to the official launch of OnePlus 5T. He has not done something similar. He responded to a OnePlus enthusiast’s question regarding the OnePlus 6 price. The enthusiast in Weibo got a reply from the 42-year old who said “4” coupled with emojis.

After this response, social media went on fire. There have been speculated suggestions that the higher variant of OnePlus 6 (8GB RAM and allegedly 256GB storage) will be priced around CNY 4,000. In Indian currency, it will roughly be Rs. 42,000. The price is not surprising as the company has been increasing the price with every new model.

Earlier before the launch of the OnePlus 5T, the CEO had revealed that the device will be under $600 and it was indeed priced at $559 for the 128GB variant.

OnePlus 6: Specifications And Features

The company has already confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. In terms of memory, it has an 8GB RAM+256GB storage variant. The smartphone will also be equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The alert slider is predicted to come with a new set of functionalities. It will also be water and dust resistant.

The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.28-inch QHD+ display and it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. Pete Lau has already shown of OnePlus 6 camera samples on Chinese social media Weibo. The pictures look good and prove that the camera has been intricately designed. The smartphone will also sport a glass back panel with five-layer nanotech coating.

In a forum note, OnePlus said, “The phone has five layers of Nanotech Coating instead of three, even though the degree of separation between each layer is extremely subtle and tough to discern as the additional layers give the back of the device a stronger impression of depth.”

The Chinese company had also said, “The advantages of glass over metal are manifold: glass communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling. The way glass transforms under different lighting is a particularly important challenge—the OnePlus design team tested over 70 glass prototypes before selecting the best one.”

It looks like that OnePlus is looking to provide competition to Samsung and Apple in terms of price. The increasing price has moved it to a category higher than mid-budget phones. But this smartphone could turn out to be a masterclass, so buckle your seat belts and wait for it.
