OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone, called the OnePlus 3. Hardware Specs
All the three smartphones are powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU. While OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 are clocked at 2.15GHz, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is clocked at 1.8GHz.
The OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 pack 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The Le Max 2 also comes in one more variant with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The Mi 5 houses 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Sadly, none of these phones support expandable storage via microSD card. Users will have to restrict their storage to the memory that comes inbuilt with the phone.
Display
The Mi 5 has the smallest screen size in the lot while Le Max 2 is the largest one. Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display, OnePlus 3 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED (1080p) display while Le Max 2 has a 5.7-inch 2K Super Retina (1440p) display. Going with the screen size and resolution, the Max 2 certainly has an upper hand in this department.
Camera
The Le Max 2 comes with a 21 mega pixel primary camera with dual tone LED flash, PDAF, OIS, 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture. The OnePlus 3 sports a 16 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, EIS, PDAF, Sony IMX298 sensor and 4K video recording capabilities. Both smartphones are equipped with 8 mega pixel front facing cameras. The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 16 mega pixel primary camera with dual LED flash, PDAF, Sony IMX298 sensor, 6P lens, 4-axis OIS, sapphire glass protection lens and 4K video recording capabilities. Mi 5 also packs a 4 mega pixel front shooter with 2 micron pixels.
Software
All the three smartphones run Android Marshmallow operating system wrapped under their respective UI’s.
Battery
The OnePlus 3 and Xiaomi Mi 5 are backed up by 3000mAh battery while Le Max 2 is fueled by a 3100mAh battery. All the three smartphones support fast charging. OnePlus 3 supports Dash Charge technology which is said to charge the phone up to 60 percent in just 30 minutes. The Xiaomi Mi 5 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 which the company claims to deliver up to 2.5 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charge.
Additional Features
All three devices are equipped with fingerprint sensors for additional security. The LeEco Le Max 2 is the world’s first phone to feature USB Type-C audio port instead of 3.5mm audio jack. It also features Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) technology for high quality and lossless audio.
Price
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is priced at Rs. 24,999 while OnePlus will set you back Rs. 27,999. The Le Max 2 is priced at Rs. 22,999 for 4GB RAM+32GB storage variant and Rs. 29,999 for 6GB RAM+64GB storage variant.
Verdict
Xiaomi Mi 5 is priced lower than the OnePlus 3 and 6GB variant of the Le Max 2. OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 are priced more than the Mi 5 which is justified considering that they offer better specifications. Both OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 offer more RAM, larger displays and more inbuilt storage. Despite lagging behind on spec-sheet, the Mi 5 is a powerful mid-ranged smartphone.
As for the other two smartphones, their specifications as closely matched. The Le Max 2 has more screen resolution, higher primary camera resolution as well as more battery capacity than the OnePlus 3. But for these features, you will have to shed Rs. 2,000 more than the OnePlus 3.
