Obi Mobiles, backed by ex-Apple CEO John Scully is now Obi Worldphone and has launched its two new smartphones- Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5. Both devices have been designed by San Francisco-based product studio Ammunition.
The Worldphone SF1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. Based on RAM and storage, it comes in two variants- one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while other variant houses 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera with flash. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, it measures 146x74x8mm and weighs 147 grams.
The Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 on the other hand comes with 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 processor, Mali 400 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 5-inch HD display, 16GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB using microSD card), 8 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash, 5 mega pixel front camera and a 3000mAh battery.

Price & Availability
The Obi Worldphone SF1 is priced at $199 (Rs. 13,100 approximately) for 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage and $249 ( Rs. 16,400 approximately) for 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage. The Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 is priced at $129 (Rs. 8,500 approximately). Both smartphones will be rolled out for sale in October 2015. The devices will initially go on sale in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, Pakistan, Turkey and India and will be available in 50 to 70 high-growth countries by 2017.
