Nubia (ZTE sub-brand) has finally launched the successor of its Red Magic Mars gaming smartphone in India. It sports a 6.65-inch FHD+ HDR AMOLED display with the 90Hz refresh rate. The Nubia Red Magic 3 is priced at Rs 35,999 for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB internal storage variant. The high-end model with 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs 46,999. It will be available from June 27 via Flipkart.
The 8GB RAM variant comes in Black and Red color variants. On the other hand, the 12GB RAM variant comes with Camo (Red with Blue Gradient) finish. The company is also offering three accessories for the smartphone – Charging Dock, Earphones, and Game Controller (priced around Rs 1,999 – Rs 2,999).
In China, the Nubia Red Magic 3 is priced at 2899 yuan (approx Rs 30,065) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant, While the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs 3199 yuan (approx Rs 33,175), the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 3499 yuan (approx Rs 36,290). The 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage model costs 4299 yuan (approx Rs 44,590).

The new handset is powered by a Snapdragon 855 octa-core 7nm processor along with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 8GB/ 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/ 256GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage.
The new Nubia Red Magic 3 is being touted as the world’s first smartphone with an active cooling system. It comes with an internal turbofan that increases effective heat transfer by 500%. The new thermal design is said to offer for a smoother, more comfortable gaming experience.
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 48MP rear camera with 1/2.0-inch Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, and a Dual LED flash. For selfies and video calling, it sports a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The 5000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. It is claimed to offer an hour of gameplay with a 10-minute charge.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 runs Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system with Redmagic OS 2.0 on top. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The dual-SIM smartphone sports a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 430 nits brightness, HDR support, and 90hz refresh rate. It measures 171.7 x 78.5 x 9.65mm and weighs 215g. The customizable (with Red Magic’s light effects editor) RGB lighting comes with several effects and over 16.8 million colors.
The touch-sensitive shoulder triggers offer additional hardware buttons. You can configure and custom-map these buttons to suit your game of choice. Another hardware switch toggles ‘Red Magic Game Space 2.0’ dashboard that allows you to organize/ quick-launch games, fine-tune settings/ fan speeds, monitor temperature/ usage stats, block notifications, and record in-game videos.
For audio, the smartphone sports dual front-facing stereo speakers, DTS:X, and 3D sound technologies that creates a cinematic soundscape.
