HMD Global is all set to launch new Nokia smartphones in the Indian market. This includes the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The new smartphones are expected to be launched on April 4 in New Delhi. While the Nokia 6 (2018) is expected to be priced around Rs 20,000, the Nokia 7 Plus is said to come with a price tag of Rs 30,000. Whereas the Nokia 8 Sirocco is expected to come with a premium price tag of Rs 45,000.

The new Nokia phones are part of the Android One initiative (offers pure Android experience with timely updates for at least two years). Recently, HMD Global launched the new Nokia 1 Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone in India. It is priced at Rs 5,499.

The Nokia 7 Plus sports a 6.0-inch IPS display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, an 18:9 aspect ratio, 500-nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB). It is backed by a 3800mAh battery with fast charging support. The company claims that it can deliver a talk time up 19 hours and a standby time of 723 hours.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 7 Plus sports a dual rear camera setup with a dual-tone LED flash and Zeiss optics. It combines a 12-megapixel wide-angle primary camera (with a f/1.75 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels) and a 13-megapixel secondary camera (with a f/2.6 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and 2x optical zoom). The 16-megapixel fixed focus front camera comes with a f/2.0 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and Zeiss optics.

The mid-range smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with full HD (1080p) resolution, 2.5D curved glass, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor along with Adreno 508 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB). It is backed by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging support. You can charge the smartphone up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus system), 1.0um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, and a dual-tone LED flash. The 8-megapixel front camera comes with a 1.12-pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, and 84-degree wide-angle lens. The company’s proprietary Dual-Sight technology that uses both front and rear cameras to create a split screen.

The new Nokia 8 Sirocco sports a 5.5-inch pOLED display with QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB internal storage. The new handset is backed by a 3260mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the new device sports a dual camera setup on the back with dual-tone LED flash and Zeiss optics. It combines a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens (with f/1.75 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels) with a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom (f/2.6 aperture, and 1-micron pixels).
