During its annual 2018 developers conference, Google revealed a lot of new features. Some of the features enhanced the AI capabilities. Now it seems that Google has released more features quietly. One of the key new Google Photos features has been its introduction of Suggested Actions. This feature makes it easier for people to manage their photos. It seems Google is apparently rolling back this feature.
New Google Photos Features
According to an Android Police report, new Google Photos features have appeared like to automatically adjust brightness, image rotation, and screenshots archiving, and images of things like labels, menus, and receipts are now available in the app, and even on its Web module.
In the new Google Photos features, the app can also ask for an auto-brightness fix. The necessity arises on photos that are taken with a brightness that is not quite up to the mark. This automatically adjusts the settings of the images.
Another new Google Photos features are when the app recommends image rotation. It arises on badly-oriented images.
Recent Developments In Google
According to a Gizmodo report, somewhere around a dozen employees of Google have quit the tech giant. The move has come due to the company’s involvement in an AI drone program for the Pentagon. The project is named Project Maven. Moreover, around 4,000 employees are demanding that the American company end the Google military AI program with the US in a petition. It even states that Google should avoid military work. Project Maven is a tie-up between the Pentagon and Google. It helps the military to study drone footage quicker through software. In the Google military AI project, the artificial intelligence detects humans and objects for review.
The employees who resigned from the company mentioned ethical concerns regarding the company’s involvement in political and military issues. There have been reports circulating that the company under Sundar Pichai has become less transparent with its workers about its decisions. According to the reports, the company has become least concerned about opposition stance from its employees.
