Google has unveiled its new Google Chromebook Pixel as the successor to Chromebook pixel which was launched over two years ago. The 2015 Chromebook is thus, the refreshed model of original Chromebook pixel and is available in two variants. As for the specifications, one variant of second generation Chromebook Pixel is powered by 2.2 GHz Intel Core i5 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM while other variant comes with 2.4 GHz Core i7 processor paired with 16 GB of RAM, both featuring HD Graphics 5500.  Read on to find  more information on specifications, features, price and availability of the device.

Both the variants feature a 12.85 inch multi-touch display with 2560 x 1700 pixel resolution and 293 ppi pixel density.  It comes with choice of internal memory- 32 GB and 64 GB.

Additionally, the new generation Chromebook Pixel features  two USB TYpe-C ports and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Company touts it as one of the first products to feature Type-C ports. The new Chromebook Pixel is said to have battery life of up to 12 hours while just 15 minutes of charging is claimed to give up to two hours of battery life.

It includes Intel dual-band Wireless-AC 726 802.11ac (supports a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.0 BR/ EDR/ LE Smart Ready controller as connectivity options. The device measures 297.7 x 224.55 x 15.3 mm and weighs 1.5 Kg.

Price and Availability

The new Google Chromebook pixel is already available for sale in United States via Google Store. The 2.2 GHz Intel Core i5 processor variant of 2015 Google Chromebook pixel is priced at $999 (Rs. 62,000 approximately) while the LS (Ludicrous Speed) model with a 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 processor comes with a price tag of $1,299 (Rs. 81,000 approximately).
