New Asus ZenFone Models Launched In India – Price, Specs, Features

Asus has added two more smartphones to its ZenFone series of smartphones. The company has launched Max M1 (ZB556KL) and ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL) in the Indian market. Asus ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL) Rs 5,999 (introductory price)

The Asus ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL) is priced in India at Rs 6,999. It will be available at an introductory price of Rs 5,999 during the festival period in the country. On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone Max M1 (ZB556KL) is priced in India at Rs 8,999. It will be available at an introductory price of Rs 7,499 during the festival period.

Both smartphones will be exclusively available via Flipkart during the Dhamaka Days (date yet to be announced) with No Cost EMI options (up to six months). Jio users can get Rs 2,200 cashback and 50GB additional data for Jio users. The company is also offering complete mobile protection including theft protection for just Rs 99 (original price Rs. 399).

Both the Asus ZenFone Max M1 (ZB556KL) and ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL) are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. The budget smartphones come with Face Unlock feature. However, only the Asus ZenFone Max M1 comes with a fingerprint scanner (rear-mounted). Both handsets come in Black and Gold color options.

The dual-SIM smartphones run Android Oreo operating system with ZenUI 5.0 on top. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 80211 b/g/n, GPS, GLONASS, and Bluetooth v4.0.

The new handset features a 5.45-inch IPS display with HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It has 400nits brightness, 800:1 contrast ratio, 65 percent NTSC color gamut, and 82 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Asus ZenFone Max M1 (ZB556KL) packs a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, PDAF, and a LED flash. The 8-megapixel front camera comes with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, and LED flash. Camera features include beauty filters, portrait mode, and HDR mode.

In terms of dimensions, the Asus ZenFone Max M1 (ZB556KL) measures 147.3 x 70.9 x 8.7mm and weighs 150 grams. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, e-compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.

Asus ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL)

The new handset also sports mostly similar specs as the Asus ZenFone Max M1 (ZB556KL). However, it packs a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports fast charging.

The Asus ZenFone Lite L1 (ZA551KL) measures 147.26 x 71.77 x 8.15mm and weighs 140 grams. Also, it comes with a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.2um pixel size, and a LED flash.
