Motorola has launched its Motorola Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 smartphones in the Indian market. While the former is now available to buy in the country, the latter will go on sale next month.
The Moto G4 Plus is priced at Rs. 13, 499 for 2GB RAM+16GB storage variant and Rs. 14,999 for 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant. At this price point, the Moto G4 Plus will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy J7 2016. Design
The Moto G4 Plus features a plastic body with rounded frame and a textured back cover with good grip. The Galaxy J7 2016 features plastic back with brushed metal finish and metal frame along the edges. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a stunning unibody metal design.
Display
Motorola Moto G4 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 feature 5.5-inch full HD displays with 1080p resolution. The Moto G4 comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches. The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 packs a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels resolution.
Camera
The Moto G4 Plus and Redmi Note 3 sport a 16 mega pixel camera on the rear with dual LED flash. The Galaxy J7 2016 comes with a 13 meha pixel primary camera with LED flash. The Motorola Moto G4 Plus is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Galaxy J7 2016 are powered by hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 and octa-core Exynos 7870 processors respectively.
Moto G4 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 come in two variants based on RAM and storage: one with 2GB RAM+16GB storage and the other with 3GB RAM+32GB storage. Both variants of both the phones support expandable storage via microSD card. The Galaxy J7 2016 houses 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB via micoSD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is backed up by a massive 4000mAh battery followed by Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 with 3300mAh battery and Moto G4 Plus with 3000mAh battery.

The Moto G4 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 feature a fingerprint sensor for additional security. The Galaxy J7 2016 comes with an S Bike Mode that turns the phone into a bikers phone to avoid distraction. It avoids distraction of the bikers due to incoming calls and helps them to concentrate on the road.

The Moto G4 Plus is priced at Rs. 13,499 for 2GB RAM+16GB storage variant and Rs. 14,999 for 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 carries price tag of Rs. Rs. 9,999 for 2GB RAM+16GB storage version and Rs. 11,999 for 3GB RAM+32GB storage variant. The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is the most expensive of the lot with a price tag of Rs. 15,990.
Verdict
The Galaxy J7 2016 is the most expensive smartphone in this comparison. It offers a unique S Bike mode, yet on spec-sheet, it lacks behind in display, RAM and rear camera department. It also lacks fingerprint sensor which is offered by the other two smartphones. The specifications and features of Moto G4 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 are closely matched, but the price of Moto G4 Plus for the similar specs that Redmi Note 3 offers, is nearly Rs. 3,000 more. All the three smartphones in this comparison offer impressive specs, but Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 does so at the least possible price.
