In terms of specifications, the Moto Z2 Force seems like a better option. Both smartphones feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display. However, while the Z2 Force comes with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and ShatterShield technology, the Z2 Play has a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels).
While the Moto Z2 Force is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, the Moto Z2 Play comes with a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC. Both devices are supported by 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Additionally, the Moto Z2 Force offers a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option. Whereas the Moto Z2 Play comes with an option of 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The Z2 Play features a slightly larger battery (3,000 mAh) than the Z2 Force (2,730 mAh). Lately, Motorola has been cutting on the battery sizes on its new devices. This might be done to maintain small form factor.
