Conclusion
Just like the Chrome OS-based Chromebooks, the Microsoft Surface Laptop SE is specifically designed for school students and educators. The Windows 11 SE is essentially Microsoft’s answer to Chrome OS.
The stripped-down Windows 11 is touted to offer a “distraction-free” environment for students with better battery life. It is optimized for Microsoft apps including the Office suite and Edge browser.
While third-party apps like Zoom and Chrome can be added, it doesn’t include Microsoft Store for downloading any new apps. There is no Snap Layouts interface or the Widgets section as well.
Major laptop manufacturers (including Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Fujitsu, HP, JP-IK, Lenovo, and Positivo) are also expected to bring their Windows 11 SE models later this year.
