Micromax has confirmed the launch date for its upcoming smartphone range. It has started sending ‘Block your Date’ media invitations for the launch event. The all-new Micromax Infinity Smartphone Series will be unveiled on August 22. The domestic handset maker might also launch its long-awaited Evok Dual smartphone.
Micromax is known for bringing budget and mid-range devices. While pricing details of the upcoming series are not known yet, it is expected to fall in the mid-range segment. The new line-up of premium smartphones will be an affordable alternative to Samsung Galaxy S8.
The company is bringing premium features at an affordable price. However, it won’t be the first to offer a wide screen device in the mid-range segment. The LG Q6 with 5.5-inch FullVision display (18:9 aspect ratio) was launched in India at Rs 14,990. While the premium smartphones with Infinity display like Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are priced at Rs 57,900 and Rs 37,789 respectively.

Specifications and Features
The Micromax Infinity smartphones are said to sport a Samsung Galaxy S8-like design. The new devices will feature a 5.7-inch curved display. A teaser image shared by the brand hints at a display with 18:9 aspect ratio for new Micromax Infinity series. It features a tagline – ‘Let’s put a number to infinity.’
The Infinity display essentially means a bezel-less screen with a wider resolution. The traditional 16:9 aspect ratio is replaced with a wider aspect ratio of 18:9. The upcoming Micromax Infinity smartphone series will feature slim bezels. Also, the Home button will be absent at the front. However, the new series will feature an on-screen navigation button. It is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (not specified).
