Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 Hands On/ First Impressions

Micromax has announced that the Micromax Xpress 2 smartphone which was available to buy through flash sales can now be grabbed via open sale. While the company has expanded the sales model, it will continue to be available exclusively via online retailer Flipkart. Priced at Rs. 5,999, the Xpress 2 was launched in July 2015. With Rs. 5,999 price tag, the handset is an impressive dual SIM 3G smartphone loaded with plethora of features and powerful configuration in a slim outfit.

Micromax has today launched its latest smartphone- Micromax Canvas Xpress 2. The device is priced at Rs. 5,999 and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart. It comes with 500MB of 3G data for Vodafone customers for 2 months.

On design front, the Canvas Xpress 2 looks pretty impressive in Black-Gold color. The build quality of the phone is impressive. It comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display. The touch responsiveness and color quality of the display is fairly decent. The circular speaker grille, notification LED and 2 mega pixel front facing camera are located above the display. Three touch capacitive buttons are a part of the display.

Top edge houses 3.5mm audio jack and secondary mic.

On the lower edge, there is charging port, primary mic and speaker mesh. The audio quality of the device is fairly loud.

Power button and volume rocker are located on the right edge.

On the rear it features 13 mega pixel rear camera which is surrounded by metal rings accompanied with dual LED flash and Micromax logo.

On removing the soft rear panel, there is a removable 2500mAh battery, two SIM card slots and a microSD card slot. It packs a 1.4GHz octa-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM which takes almost anything you throw at it.

There is 8GB (around 5GB is user available) of inbuilt storage (expandable via microSD card). The handset also supports USB OTG. On software front, it runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system which is upgradable to Lollipop.

Overall, the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is an impressive smartphone at this price tag. Be it its build quality, performance, camera or display quality, it does not fail to impress us on any front.
