Micromax has launched its latest smartphone, called the Micromax Canvas Evok. As for specifications, the phone is powered by a 64-bit 1.4 octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and massive 3GB of RAM.
The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It houses 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded using microSD card.
For photography lovers, the Canvas Evok sports a 13 mega pixel primary camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The dual SIM handset comes with support for both TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) for India.

The Micromax Canvas Evok is priced at Rs. 8,499 and will be available to buy exclusively from online retailer Flipkart starting May 17, 2016.
The Canvas Evok is an impressive budget smartphone. At price point of Rs. 8,499, it will compete with the likes of Holly 2 Plus and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. Coolpad Note 3 costs Rs. 500 more than the Evok and features fingerprint sensor for additional security. By shelling out some more money, you can even opt for smartphones such as Meizu m3 Note, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 1s that offer better specifications.
