The sleek laptop is the successor of the Legion Y730. It sports an RGB chassis lighting (similar to Alienware laptops) and comes with the latest Nvidia GeForce GPUs (unspecified). The cooling is handled by Lenovo’s Legion Coldfront dual-fan thermal layout.
The Legion Y740 is powered by an 8th-gen Intel (Core i5-8300H, Core i7-8750H) processors along with an optional 32GB DDR4 2,666Mhz RAM (or 8GB+8GB 3200MHz Corsair Overclocked Memory) and 512GB PCIe SSD/ 512GB SATA SSD / 2TB HDD storage.
The 15-inch/ 17-inch displays feature narrow bezels on three sides. It comes with an optional Nvidia G-Sync 144Hz FHD panel, total brightness of up to 500 nits, and supports Dolby Vision HDR. The audio is supported by Dolby Atmos Sound.
The 100 percent anti-ghosting Corsair iCue RGB backlit keyboard and system lighting features over 16 million color customization options. The 57 watt-hour battery offers up to 6 hours on the 15-inch model. Connectivity options include USB-C port, HDMI, LAN, 3 x USB 3.1, and Mini-display port.

The more affordable option comes with an improved aluminum display hinge. It is powered by Intel Core processors along with Nvidia GeForce GPUs, up to 32GB RAM DDR4 2666MHz, and up to 2TB HDD storage.
The gaming laptop sport similar features as the Y740. This includes the cooling system, three-sided narrow bezel display, and 144Hz display with Dolby Vision support. It features 3 USB 3.1 ports, USB-C port, HDMI 2.0, Mini-Display port, LAN, and a 3.5 mm audio jack as connectivity options.
