Lava Iris X8 Launched In India: Price, Specs & Features

Expanding its flagship Iris X series, Lava has launched its new device, Lava Iris X8 smartphone in India. Lava had been teasing the device on its official website lately with the tagline saying “Get ready to Do More! Coming Soon” and “Stay tuned to know more about Lava’s latest flagship product.” The Lava X8 will take on the likes of Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note which were launched last year in India. The dual-SIM Iris X8 is powered by 1.4 GHz Octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor alongside 2 GB of RAM and Mali 450 MP GPU. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system which is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The handset features a 5 inch IPS HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and Asahi glass protection.On imaging front, it sports an 8 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with dual LED flash and BSI-III sensor while there is also a 3 mega pixel front facing camera on board. The handset further houses 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

It packs a 2500 mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 14 hours of talk time on 2G network and up to 9 hours of talk time on 3G network. Connectivity options on this device include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE and Micro-USB. The Iris X8 measures 143.4 x 70.9 x 8.6 mm, weighs 160 grams and will be available in Black and White color options.

Additionally, it features Smart Wake-up and Gesture controls which enable the users to access applications from the locked screen.
