Right after the launch of Spice Dream Uno H Android One smartphone, Karbonn has revealed that it will bring the next generation Android One smartphone in first quarter of 2015. Karbonn will come with a new model of Android One smartphone next year as its commitment towards Google’s Android One program. This information has been revealed by Executive Director of Karbonn Mobiles, Shashin Devsare at Dream 500 Million Smartphones event held in New Delhi.
For those who are unaware of the Android One Program, it is an initiative to bring low-cost smartphones for the customers and was launched in India with the manufacturers like Karbonn, Micromax and Spice. Karbonn has already launched Sparkle V based on Android One platform earlier in India while Spice launched its Dream Uno Android One smartphone.

“Expect the new Android One smartphone will be launched in the first quarter of 2015. We have had an excellent response on Android One devices and we believe that Android One will mature over time. Our partnership for Android One is going to be on a long term basis,” said Shashin Devsare, Executive Director of Karbonn Mobiles.
The Dream Uno H Android which has been launched recently by Spice is essentially the Hindi variant of Dream Uno Android One which was launched few months back in 2014. This smartphone focuses more on the Hindi language speakers and seeks to reach 300 million Hindi speaking population in India. powered by a a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor alongside 1 GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. It comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, houses a 5 mega pixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2 mega pixel front facing camera. It houses 4GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card and packs a 1700 mAh battery. It comes equipped with Hindi version of the apps like Chrome, Search, YouTube, Google Maps, Aajtak, Hungama and Sony Live.
Specifications of the upcoming second generation Android One smartphone have not yet been revealed. We will update you as soon as more information will be made available.
