The Cupertino-based tech giant has finally launched a successor of its iPhone SE model (announced in 2016). It is being touted as the most affordable iPhone model in the current lineup.
The new handset was originally expected to debut as the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9. Now, it is being called the new iPhone SE or iPhone SE 2nd generation.
Unlike the latest iPhone series, the new smartphone sports a 4.7-inch display. However, it comes with the same Apple A13 Bionic SoC (seen on the iPhone 11 series).
Additionally, the iPhone SE (2020) comes with iOS 13 out-of-the-box and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Let’s take a closer look:

The Apple iPhone SE (2020) is powered by an A13 Bionic processor. It comes in three internal storage variants – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
As usual, Apple has not revealed the details of the RAM and battery. However, it is said to last up to 13 hours of video playback time, and 40 hours of audio playback time.
The fast charging support allows you to charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes with an 18W charger. The handset also supports wireless charging via the Qi wireless charging standard.
Cameras
The new iPhone sports a single 12MP rear camera (f/1.8 aperture) with a LED True Tone flash (with Slow Sync). It is protected by a sapphire crystal lens cover.
Camera features include 4K video recording at up to 60fps, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Smart HDR, and a Portrait mode (powered by the Neural Engine on A13 Bionic SoC).
For selfies and video calling, the Apple iPhone SE (2020) comes equipped with a 7MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The new iPhone runs the iOS 13 out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi calling, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a Lightning port.
For security, the new iPhone comes with a Touch ID button (fingerprint sensor). It is also protected by a sapphire crystal.
Other sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, three-axis gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.
Design and Display
The Apple iPhone SE (2020) sports a 4.7-inch Retina HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a peak brightness of 625 nits.
The display panel also features Haptic Touch support, True Tone tech (to adjust white balance), Dolby Vision and HDR10.
In terms of design, the new model looks similar to the iPhone 8 (launched in September 2017). It measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3mm and weighs 148 grams.
The Apple iPhone SE (2020) is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and durable glass. It comes in Black, White, and RED color options.
The new handset comes with an IP67 rating (dust and water resistance). It can survive in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Price and Availability

The Apple iPhone SE (2020) is priced in India at Rs 42,500 for the 64GB storage variant. The 128GB and 256GB storage variants cost Rs 47,800 and Rs 58,300, respectively.
As of now, there is no information about the Indian availability of details. In the US, the new handset will go on sale from April 24.
