InFocus has taken the wraps off its latest smartphone, called the InFocus Epic 1. Priced at Rs. 12,999, the phone is available to buy from Amazon India. Read on to find out first impressions and hands on review of the phone.
On design front, the Epic 1 flaunts its thin profile and metallic finish. It features metal casing with a curved back that offers a comfortable grip. On the front, it features a 5.5-inch full HD display with very narrow bezels. With a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, the screen looks sharp and vibrant.
Above the display, there is a front camera along with circular earpiece, LED indicator and sensors.
Three touch navigation are a part of the screen.
On the top edge, you get 3.5mm audio jack and IR Blaster.
Bottom edge houses USB-Type C charging port and speaker grille.
Left edge houses volume rockers and power button.
On the rear, you get the primary camera along with dual LED flash, fingerprint sensor and InFocus branding.
It is a hybrid dual SIM which means that the second slot can be either used for accommodating a SIM card or a microSD card at one time.
Under the hood, the smartphone packs a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device houses 32GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, it offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C as connectivity options. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, the device supports fast charging.
On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 16 mega pixel primary camera with dual tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus, Auto Image stabilization (AIS), Object Tracking, Dynamic Auto Focus and Slow Motion Video recording. There is also an 8 mega pixel front facing camera with f/1.8 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls. The camera app offers several modes and features. We tested the camera indoors and the phone produced decent images.
