The new handset is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 processor (with AI Power 7.0 and GPU Turbo technologies) and 4GB RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that offers up to 65 hours of music playback and 9 hours of video playback.
In terms of optics, the Huawei Y9 (2019) features a dual camera setup on the front and back. The rear camera setup combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture). Whereas the front camera setup uses a 16-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture, 2-micron pixels) and a 2-megapixel front sensor (f/2.4 aperture). Both the camera setups are accompanied by AI-based features.

The new smartphone sports a 6.5-inch FullView TFT LCD Display with a 3D curved design, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels). It comes in Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue color options. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a Micro-USB port.
The Huawei Y9 (2019) runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with EMUI 8.2 on top. It comes with an upgraded fingerprint technology that unlocks the handset in 0.3 seconds. The Fingerprint 4.0 identification technology includes fingerprint navigation that allows you to manage all the notifications with one key.
