The new smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) processor along with 2GB RAM. The 16GB/ 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 512GB). It is backed by a 3,020mAh battery.

The Huawei Y5 2019 runs Android 9 Pie operating system with EMUI 9.0 on top. It supports Face Unlock feature, Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a Micro-USB port.
The dual-SIM smartphone sports a 5.71-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) resolution, 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and an 84.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. It measures 147.13 x 70.78 x 8.45mm and weighs 146 grams.
