Huawei has reportedly launched its new mid-ranged smartphone Huawei Ascend Y540 in select European countries including Netherlands and Italy. The device has been spotted on Huawei’s support page as well as on a website named MediaWorld. Under the hood, Ascend Y540 is powered by 1.3 GHz Dual-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The dual-SIM handset features a 4.5 inch WVGA display and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. On storage front, it houses 4 GB of internal storage and comes with microSD card slot for further expansion. Ascend Y540 sports a 5 mega pixel rear camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera. It packs a 1730 mAh battery while connectivity options on the handset include 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Huawei had also launched its Honor T1 tablet in December 2014. The tablet is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Other specifications of the tablet include 8 inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system with Emotion UI. It sports a 5 mega pixel rear camera while there is also a 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera for making video calls. It houses 8 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. The tablet packs a 4800 mAh battery.
Price and Availability
The Huawei Ascend Y540 has been launched in select European countries at 95 Euros approximately which translates it to around Rs. 6700. Details about pricing and availability of the handset in other markets including India have not been revealed yet. We expect it to be launched globally in the coming weeks.
