Huawei is reportedly working on the successor of Ascend Mate 7, dubbed the Huawei Ascend Mate 8 smartphone. Leaked renders of the device have surfaced online.
The Mate 8 seems to have taken design cues from its predecessor Ascend Mate 7. Both handsets look similar to each other boasting metal body however there are a few differences as well. As per the leaked renders, sensor placement around the earpiece has changed. The device could come with an LED flash on the front. Coming to the rear, the dual LED flash has been moved below the camera. The Huawei branding has disappeared from the front but there is Huawei logo on the rear of the phone.
As for specifications, the device is rumored to be powered by a 64-bit Kirin 950 (four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A72 cores) processor and feature a 6-inch QHD display. The phablet is said to come in two variants- one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory while other variant will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt memory. The device will support dual SIM card and dual standby. More details about the Huawei Ascend Mate 8 are likely to surface in the coming days. We would suggest you to take this information with a grain of salt since Huawei has not revealed anything officially yet.
