Looks like, Huawei is launching successor of its popular smartphones. Earlier, we reported that Huawei launched Ascend P6S which is the successor of its most popular Android smartphone Huawei Ascend P6. Now this time Huawei announced Ascend W2 the successor of its first windows phone Huawei Ascend W. The company said that this device will be available first in China in August and after that in Russia and Netherlands followed by other countries. They said that the device will come India soon, but has not announced the exact date of launching. There is not any word about pricing too. Considering the specifications, this will be entry level Windows Phone that may be compete with Nokia Lumia 520. This is the only second Windows based device from Huawei. This device was showcased back in June at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013, now they officially confirmed it too.
Talking about specifications, smartphone sports 4.3 inch IPS WVGA LCD display along with 480×800 pixels resolution. Huawei said that the screen of this phone is so responsive even it can response when you are wearing gloves too. The display features TFT Magic Touch technology.
There is 5 mega-pixel camera at back that can record up to 720p videos. Windows are getting popularity slowly, and now there is 1,75,000 apps available in Windows Phone Store. But there is only 8GB of storage available with this phone, and it do not support expandable storage too. So you will not be able to upgrade the memory of the device and that result you cannot install more apps and cannot save more videos and pictures on your phone. Although you will get 7GB of SkyDrive storage.
The phone is powered by dual core processor from Snapdragon along with an Adreno 305 GPU too. The phone has only 512 MB RAM. Windows Phone OS will surely run on 512 MB smoothly, but you won’t be able to install higher end games.
