Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC (High-Tech Computer) Corporation has unveiled its two smartphones HTC Desire 620 and 620 G in the domestic market Taiwan. These smartphone are now listed on the official website of the company and they are further expected to be available for sale in Asian and European markets soon.
The HTC Desire 620 is powered by 64-bit 1.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 processor while Desire 620 G is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor. The dual sim smartphones run on Android 4.4 operating system.
They feature 5-inch 720p HD display (720×1280 pixels resolution), 8 mega pixel rear camera with 1080p video recording and the Eye Experience, they also sport a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. They feature 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal in-built storage. They pack a 2100 mAh battery. Both the phones come with dual front speakers. The dimensions of the phones are 50.1 x 72.7 x 9.6 mm, weighing 160 grams. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
Desire 620 supports 4G LTE and microSD cards up to 128GB while 620 G supports only 3G connectivity and microSD cards up to 32GB.

Both the phones are more or less similar to each other. The Desire 620 will be available in Milky-way, Grey and Santorini White colour options while Desire 620 G will be available in two colour options- Marble White and Grey.
Rival Smartphones
These smartphones if launched in India will compete with Micromax Canvas 4, Xolo 1010i and Gionee M2. Xolo 1010i available in Rs. 10,000 range is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core Processor. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (Upgradable to 4.4 KitKat) operating system. It features a 5-inch HD IPS Asahi scratch resistant display and sports an 8 mega pixel rear camera with Exmor R Sensor and 2 mega pixel front camera. Further it comes with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory (Expandable up to 32 GB).
These rival smartphones are equipped with plethora of innovative features. If HTC has to succeed in the Indian market with its two new offerings, it will have to launch them at competitive prices in India.
Price and Availability
Desire 620 is available for sale in Taiwan from December 1, 2014 at a price tag of for TWD 6990 or Rs 14,000 . The Desire 620G will be available from mid-December for TWD 4,990 or Rs. 9,990, while the price and availability of these smartphones outside Taiwan is yet not confirmed.
