The addition of bilingual support will enhance the usability of the Google News app. You will be able to select two languages to receive news articles.
Users can now catch the latest news in English and Hindi simultaneously directly. Your previous personalization preferences (relevant news articles/ topics based on Google’s algorithm) will still apply.
The new update is available to the Google News app on Android and iOS devices. It is accessible across 141 countries and 41 language options globally. Here’s how to enable bilingual support on your smartphone:

How To Enable Bilingual Support In Google News App
- Go to the Settings menu from the Google News app
- Navigate to the Languages and regions option
- Now, you should see an additional ‘language and regions’ option alongside the default language and region selection
- Choose your preferred language

Google claims that more than 60 percent of global citizens speak in two or more languages. The new feature will offer news in two languages.
“With this update, you’ll be able to include content in two languages together within your news app, and benefit from the headlines and stories in each language to learn more about a culture or to catch up on what’s going on elsewhere,” the company said in a blog post.
The search engine giant has been adding artificial intelligence (AI) updates to Google News to deliver personalized news stories to your smartphone.
Earlier this year, the company redesigned the Google News tab for desktop users. Additionally, it has been integrated into Google Assistant-enabled smartphone displays and home speakers.
