Honor has launched the LTE version of its WaterPlay 8 tablet. It was initially launched as a Wi-Fi only tablet. The Honor Waterplay 8 variant is priced in China at CNY 1699 (approx Rs 17,283). It will be available in Silver and Champagne Gold color options. Sales start on December 25. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.
The WiFI model is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 15,900) and CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 20,100) for the 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively. It comes in Lava Black and Midnight Silver color options.

The new tablet is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor along with Mali T830-MP2 GPU and 4GB RAM. It is backed by a 5,100mAh battery with 9V/2A fast charging support.
In terms of optics, the Honor Waterplay 8 sports a dual camera setup on the back (13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture + 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture). The 8-megapixel fixed-focus front camera comes with f/2.0 aperture. The internal storage is further expandable via a microSD card (up to 256GB).

The new tablet runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with EMUI 8.0 on top. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 with BLE, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, NFC support, and OTG support.
The Honor Waterplay 8 sports an 8.0-inch WXGA display with full-HD (1200 x 1920pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 283ppi and 74.13 percent screen-to-body ratio. Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor.
In terms of dimensions, the new tablet measures 248 x 173 x 7.8mm and weighs 465 grams. It has an IP67-rating (waterproof and dustproof).
