Honor has announced the successor of its V10 (a.k.a. Honor View 10) smartphone in Hong Kong. The Honor V20 (View 20) is the company’s first smartphone to sport a display hole and a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor. Price and Availability
The Honor V20 will be officially launched in China on December 26. The global launch will take place in Paris on January 22. It will be launched in India next month (soon after global launch). Sales are expected to start in February.
The upcoming handset is expected to be priced at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 28,400) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant will cost CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 33,500). It is already listed on Vmall for pre-order with a deposit of CNY 100.

The Honor V20 is being touted as the ‘world’s first in-screen camera smartphone’. It features a small display hole (4.5mm) on the top left corner of the screen that houses 25-megapixel selfie camera. At the back, the new handset sports a 48-megapixel camera with a 1/2.0-inch CMOS Sony IMX586 sensor, 4-in-1 Light Fusion, 4 times sensor HDR, and AI capabilities.
The new smartphone is powered by the latest 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. Additionally, it comes with the GPU Turbo gaming technology and Link Turbo technology (combines Wi-FI and LTE connections with AI capabilities).
Honor also claims that the premium handset is designed with 5-axis ring dispensing technology, 0.1mm precision assembly, and a customized camera lens. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
Additionally, the upcoming handset is said to come with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It will run Android 9.0 operating system out-of-the-box. The handset comes in Charm Blue and Midnight Black color options.
Honor V20 Maserati Edition
The Maserati Edition sports a Maserati logo at the back and the Honor branding at the bottom end. The two speaker grilles are placed at the bottom side of the device.

The Honor V10 was launched at Rs 52,812. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core (4 x 2.36GHz Cortex-A73 cores + 4 x 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 cores) processor and an i7 co-processor. The handset uses a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI and machine learning related functions. The internal storage on the handset can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).
The Honor View 10 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 403ppi and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 3750mAh battery with 5V/ 4.5A fast charging support. The smartphone offers up to 23 hours of talk-time on 3G, and 22 days of standby time.
On the camera front, the Honor View 10 sports a dual rear camera setup with a f/1.8 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus system), dual-LED flash. It uses a 16-megapixel RGB primary sensor and a secondary 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 13-megapixel front camera comes with a f/2.0 aperture. The AI-powered Portrait mode is enhanced by features like motion detection, intelligent scene, and object recognition.
