Remember the launch of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 last month in November? Of course you do. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which was officially launched in November 2014 has been reported to be present in Samsung smartphones. It is found that two of Samsung smartphones- Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha secretly used Gorilla Glass 4 before its launch. It has been revealed that Gorilla Glass 4 used secretly in these smartphones was due to the Corning’s partnership with Samsung to provide its latest Gorilla Glass 4 in Samsung devices during the final stages of Gorilla Glass 4.
A smartphone being dropped or slipped from hand is very common among users. Gorilla Glass 4 comes for rescue for such people with its scratch and damage resistant properties. It measures 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm in thicknesses and is claimed to survive 80 per cent of the times when it is dropped or slipped from hands.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Alpha are spotted on the Corning website listing under Gorilla Glass smartphones section and both the smartphones to our surprise are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad-core or 1.9 GHz quad-core Exynos processor accompanied with 3 GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Based on storage it comes in two variants- 32 GB and 64 GB.It sports a 16 mega pixel rear camera and 3.7 mega pixel front facing camera. Coming to the display of this smartphone, it comes with 5.7 inch qHD Super AMOLED display with damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
While Samsung Galaxy Alpha is powered by a 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 quad-core and 1.8 GHz Cortex A15 quad-core Exynos processor, paired to a 2 GB RAM. It runs on the latest 4.4.4 KitKat operating system. It comes with 12 mega pixel primary camera and 2.1 mega pixel front facing camera. The screen is 4.7 inch HD Super AMOLED, again with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
Both these smartphones carry a sophisticated and elegant design. Apparently, now we can relate the slim and light weight design of these smartphone to the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which they are furnished with.
