The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor along with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The 3,140mAh battery supports 18W fast charging. The handset comes bundled with a USB Type-C adapter that works with USB PD 2.0 (Power Delivery).
In terms of optics, the Google Pixel 4a sports a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and an LED flash module.
Camera features include HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities, fused video stabilization, and optical image stabilization (OIS).
For selfies and video calling, the new smartphone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel front camera (f/2.0). It is placed in a display hole on the top-left corner.

The Google Pixel 4a runs the Android 10 operating system. It comes with new Google Assistant that allows users to quickly send text messages and offers faster control of apps.
The handset also comes with Live Caption support. A Recorder app comes with real-time transcription support in English.

A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. Other sensors on the device include an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a barometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
The new smartphone measures 144 x 69.4 x 8.2mm and weighs 143 grams. Additional features include the Titan M security module, stereo speakers, two microphones, and noise suppression support.
