Google has announced the launch of new range of ChromeBooks for India. This new range comprises of Xolo & Nexian Air Chromebooks. Google has revealed that the Samsung Chromebook 2, Asus Chromebook Flip, C300 and C201 will also hit the Indian market in the coming days. The company has also announced the launch of Chromebooks for education, Chrome OS for business and the Chromebox for meetings.
As for specifications, both Xolo & Nexian Air Chromebooks are powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Rockchip 3288 quad-core processor paired with ARM Mali-T764 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

They feature an 11.6-inch IPS display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution and house 16GB of inbuilt storage with expansion slot. The Nexian Air Chromebook further comes with a rugged splash-proof design.

Google has also announced Asus Chromebox for meetings, priced at Rs. 90,000 in India. Specifications of the Chromebook include 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4600U processor paired with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 -in-1 Card Reader, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, DC-in port and Display port.
“When we introduced Chromebooks four years ago, we wanted to build a laptop for the way people use computers today – always fast, easy to use, and secure by default. Since launching Chromebooks in India, we’ve been working to ensure that Chromebooks work in an environment where connectivity can be spotty, and many people’s first experiences with technology and through a phone rather than a laptop,” Smita Hashim, Global Product Manager, Chrome OS.
Price and Availability
The Asus Chromebox for meetings is priced at Rs. 90,000. Both Xolo & Nexian Air Chromebooks are priced at Rs. 12,999 and availability details are as follows:
- The Xolo Chromebook will be available to buy from Snapdeal in the coming days.
- The Nexian Air Chromebook is now available to buy from Amazon India.
- The Asus Chromebook C201, C300, Chromebook Flip and Samsung Chromebook 2 will be available to buy from local retailers in the coming months.
