Gionee has finally launched the Gionee Marathon M5 smartphone in the Indian market. Highlight of this device is its monstrous 6020mAh battery. The device also supports fast charging as well as reverse charging such that it can be used as a power bank to charge other devices.

On design front, it is a sturdy and robust smartphone. The metal finish unibody design gives it a premium look. The massive battery however seems to have increased the weight of this device. It weighs 214 grams and is a bit bulky to hold in hand.
The 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display looks vibrant. It has resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The display is sharp and bright. Viewing angles are good and it can be easily used in sunlight.
Above the display, there is LED notification light followed by sensor, earpiece and front camera.
Below the display, there are three touch capacitive buttons.
The top edge of the phone houses 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster.
Volume rockers, power button and microSD card slot are placed on the right edge.
The left edge houses dual nano SIM card slot.
The bottom edge houses USB charging port and microphone hole.
On the rear of the phone, there is primary camera accompanied by LED flash and secondary mic for noise cancellation.
Speaker mesh is located on the lower part of the rear of the phone. Audio quality of this phone is loud and clear.
On camera front, it sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. Both cameras take stunning shots with impressive color reproduction.
As for performance, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. On testing the phone on Antutu benchmarks, we got a score of around 28,000.
It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system wrapped under Amigo UI 3.1. The UI is well optimized and this phone is designed to offer smooth gaming and multitasking experience to the users. For storage purpose, it comes with 32GB of inbuilt memory which can be expanded using microSD card. The mammoth 6020mAh battery which should give you more than one full day of usage. The company claims that it can deliver up to 62 hours of standby time with just 5% of battery left. It supports fast charging and reverse charging features as well.
