Gionee has launched its new flagship phone Elife S7 in India for Rs. 24,999. The handset as the successor to Gionee Elife S5.5, was first unveiled at MWC 2015. All the three handsets pack octa-core CPU’s. The Gionee Elife S7 and Elife S5.5 pack MediaTeK 6752 and Mediatek MT6592 chipset respectively clocked at 1.7 GHz. The Galaxy A7 is powered by on octa-core (Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU.
Display
The Galaxy A7 sports the largest 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display followed by Elife S7 with 5.2 inch display while Elife S5.5 features a 5 inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.
Operating System
The Gionee Elife S7 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Amigo OS 3.0 while Elife S5.5 runs on a rather dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Amigo OS 2.0. The Samsung Galaxy A7 on the other hand runs Android 4.4.KitKat operating system wrapped under TouchWiz UI.
RAM & ROM
All the three smartphones house 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt memory. Gionee’s Elife S7 and S5.5 lack microSD card support while Samsung Galaxy A7 comes with expandability up to 64 GB via microSD card.
Camera
Again the three handsets have a tie in primary camera department. They all sport a 13 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. Gionee Elife S7 features an 8 mega pixel front facing camera while the other two smartphones sport a 5 mega pixel camera.

The Elife S7 is fueled by the largest 2750 mAh battery followed by Samsung Galaxy A7 with 2600 mAh battery and lastly the Elife S5.5 with 2300 mAh battery.
Dimensions & Weight
Both Elife S7 and S5.5 feature a sleek design with 5.5 mm thickness. S7 however bears lighter weight of 126.5 grams as compared to 133 grams weight of Elife S5.5. Samsung Galaxy A7 measures 6.3 mm in thickness and weighs 141 grams.
Price
Gionee Elife S5.5 is available at the lowest price at Rs. 18,500 while the Elife S7 is launched at Rs. 24,999 and will be available in the coming days. The Samsung Galaxy A7 is available to buy for Rs. 29,300.
Verdict
Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a larger display and comes with microSD card support but the handset is available at a higher price as compared to the other two smartphones. The Elife S7 comes with many upgrades over its predecessor Elife S5.5 like larger display, latest operating system, larger battery and better front facing camera. With such decent features, rich configuration and sleek design, Gionee Elife S7 seems to be a value for money handset in this price range.
