The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is expected to launch alongside the new Galaxy S20 series next month. Samsung’s Unpacked event will be held on February 11.
The company initially teased the upcoming foldable design at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019 (SDC19).
The foldable phone is reported to be priced around EUR 1,500 (approx Rs 1,17,600). In South Korea, it is tipped to debut at KRW 1.6 million (approx Rs 97,800).
As of now, there is no information about the Indian price and launch date.

As per recent leaks and reports, the new foldable phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor along with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The 3,300mAh battery (two-part) will come with 15W charging. It is also tipped to come with support for 9W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will feature a clamshell folding-screen form factor with a 10MP punch-hole camera with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus support.
On the back, the foldable phone will sport a dual-camera setup with a 12MP sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 12MP secondary sensor (f/2.2, 123-degree field of view).

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is expected to come in two color options – Black and Purple. It is reported to measure 7.2mm in thickness and weigh 183 grams.
The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED foldable display will feature Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Glass and a plastic layer on top of it (to prevent scratches).
The Infinity Flex screen is said to come with HDR10+ support, a 22:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 1080 x 2636 pixels.
The hinge will allow users to freely opened at an angle between 70 to 110 degrees. The UI will resize elements if the clamshell device is partially folded.
There will also be a 1.06-inch cover display. The always-on display is just a Super AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass 6 protection and a resolution of 116 x 300 pixels.
The new listing hints the presence of NFC support and Samsung Pay’s MST technology.
Additional features will include Android 10-based One UI 2.1, USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

With several foldable devices in the market now, Samsung is working on bringing multiple foldable phones this year.
“While we can’t comment on future products, Samsung is committed to pioneering the foldable category, including investing in the development of new form factors,” Samsung said in a statement.
“The amazing thing with the foldable technology is that it can also become more compact,” said Sally Hyesoon Jeong, head of Framework R&D Group at Samsung’s mobile communications.
“This brand new form factor we are now exploring not only easily fits in your pocket but it also changes the way you use the phone,” Jeong added.
